"As far back as I can remember, I was always drawing or painting."
"I want each of my paintings to create the mood, realism and intensity I felt
while painting them. The public reaction to my fine art shows that I am
doing just that."
"I spend a great deal of time observing and enjoying the diverse
islands in which I live. I love traveling to other areas in order to
study the landscape, ocean, and wildlife, as well as focusing local
environments. I feel this is deeply important in expanding my
capabilities as an artist and person.
Living and painting the wild horses ,ocean and
wildlife of Assateague and Chincoteague Island has expanded my love of
painting for the last twenty eight years. The diversity in my maritime paintings
has intensified from living on Eastern Shore and in the tropical Caribbean.
The few years I spent living on a sailboat has inspired me to concentrate recently
on a series of waves, seascapes and tropical ocean studies. Now retired and living full
time on Vieques Island, Puerto Rico has inspired my painting to a new level I have not
felt since I was learning to paint".
